The Brewers avoid the sweep Wednesday by defeating the Reds, 4-3, in the last meeting between the Reds and Brewers at Miller Park (correction from earlier: I think I wrote that this series was the last of the season between the two teams…the Brewers actually still have three games at The Great American Ballpark as part of this next road stand). CC Sabathia got the start, but not the win, allowing 3 ER in 7 IP. After plating a pair in the 8th, Salmon Torres fanned the side in the 9th to earn the save.
Sixteen games left…next up: 4 at Philly that will be the biggest series to date for the Crew.
